The Story
About Daedric
The Daedric alphabet is the jagged script of Oblivion, the letters of the Daedric Princes, scrawled across shrines, spell tomes and black soul gems throughout The Elder Scrolls. Every sign-off from Mehrunes Dagon or Sheogorath drips with these barbed strokes.
Each Daedric letter corresponds to an English one, so mortal words translate directly into the tongue of the Princes. Type below, and try not to summon anything.
- Daedric letters have names like Ayem, Bedt, Cess and Doht.
- In Morrowind, entire books appear written in Daedric script.
- The alphabet doubles as the writing system for the Dunmer’s religious texts.
- Hover any glyph in your translation to reveal its mortal letter.
