What's the Difference Between a Script, a Language, a Cipher and a Code?

A script is a writing system: your English words, drawn in different letters, Aurebesh, Tengwar or Sheikah. A language has its own vocabulary and grammar: Sindarin, Quenya, Klingon and Huttese are real constructed languages, so Krunes translates their attested words and is honest about the rest. A cipher secretly re-letters English, Caesar, Atbash, Pigpen, Al Bhed, and always decodes back. A code is a technical encoding built for machines and radios: Morse, binary, hexadecimal, Base64 and the NATO phonetic alphabet. Every card above is labelled, so you always know which magic you're using.
