Simlish Translator
Turn English into Simlish-style gibberish, the language of The Sims. Real known phrases like Sul Sul and Nooboo, plus a playful generator for everything else.
About Simlish
Sul sul! Simlish is the joyful gibberish of The Sims, invented so players would imagine their own dialogue rather than hearing scripted lines get stale. It was improvised by voice actors riffing on Ukrainian, French, Latin, Finnish and Navajo-inspired sounds, and it stuck.
Simlish has no fixed grammar, so no true translation exists. Krunes does the next best thing: real, documented phrases (sul sul = hello, nooboo = baby, dag dag = goodbye) are used where known, and everything else is generated Simlish-style, consistently, so the same word always “translates” the same way.
- “Sul sul” (hello), “dag dag” (goodbye) and “nooboo” (baby) are canon Simlish.
- Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen and Lily Allen have all re-recorded hit songs in Simlish.
- Will Wright originally considered Navajo before choosing improvised nonsense.
- Because Simlish is improvised, even EA maintains only a small “official” phrasebook.
