About Wingdings
Wingdings began life in 1990 as a Microsoft symbol font, then Undertale turned it into a character. W.D. Gaster, the shattered royal scientist, “speaks in hands”: his rare, unsettling appearances are written entirely in Wingdings, and decoding them became a rite of passage for fans.
Krunes maps each letter to its classic Wingdings symbol using standard Unicode equivalents, so the output pastes anywhere, and pastes back in for decoding. ☟︎✋︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎☼︎☜︎.
- Gaster’s theme is called “mysterious sound” in the game files, entry seventeen begins his hidden lore.
- “Beware of the man who speaks in hands” is the fandom’s most famous Wingdings line.
- The original font mixed three symbol sets: Lucida Icons, Arrows and Stars.
- Letters A–I map to hand gestures, which is why Gaster “speaks in hands”.
